Dense PDFs become clean, reflowable reading on iPhone and iPad — text that resizes, reads aloud and stays yours. Then translation that keeps the document's shape.

Nothing in the work was dramatic. Progress came from checking one detail, then another, and returning to any sentence that felt uncertain.
By midday the scattered observations had started to form a useful pattern, simple enough to explain without losing their meaning.

Restore runs entirely on your device and costs nothing. Cloud translation and Explain use credits.
Open a PDF from Files, share it from another app, or scan pages with the camera. Ponte reads the text layer, and falls back to on-device OCR when there isn't one.
Columns are joined, running headers and page numbers removed, footnotes kept where they belong. What was a fixed page becomes text that reflows to your screen.
Optional. Chapters, headings and tables survive the crossing, and you can compare any passage against the original.
Translation
Ponte carries a document across to a language you read, and shows you both sides. It doesn't claim the crossing is perfect — you can compare, correct, and lock your own wording.
What you get
Your typeface, your size, your line spacing. Dynamic Type all the way to the largest accessibility sizes, without text running off the page.
Chapters detected from the document itself, a real table of contents, and search across the whole text — including the translation.
Any voice installed on your device, at your speed, with the sentence highlighted as it's spoken.
Mark passages, attach notes, and keep them across rebuilds — including into the translated edition.
EPUB, PDF or plain text. Valid EPUB 3 with a real navigation document, so Apple Books, Kindle and Kobo all open it properly.
Documents live on your device. Import, restore, read and export all work with no network at all.
Privacy
No ads. No tracking. No analytics that know what you read.
Importing, restoring, reading, highlighting and exporting never leave your iPhone or iPad.
Cloud translation sends the text you selected and nothing else — no filenames, no titles, no author.
Your content is used solely to perform your request. Not for advertising, not for profiling, not for model training.
Foreground requests are processed in memory. Optional background translation stores encrypted checkpoints for up to 24 hours. Document text never enters application logs.
Ponte also ships an App Lock, so the library hides in the app switcher and asks for Face ID when you come back. Read the full policy →
Pricing
Restore is free and unlimited. Credits pay for cloud translation and Explain, which explains selected passages. Credits never expire, and you see the cost before using a paid feature.
Ponte enforces a spend limit on the server across the whole job, so a build can cost less than the estimate but never more. App Store prices include applicable taxes and follow your storefront.
Questions
No. Restore — turning a PDF into reflowable, readable text — is free and unlimited, and runs entirely on your device. Cloud translation and Explain use credits.
They stay on your device. Cloud translation sends selected text, and Explain sends the selected passage and context shown to you, solely to perform your request. Ponte does not write document content to its database or logs or use it for model training.
Good enough to read, and shown honestly. Ponte keeps chapters, headings and tables intact, and lets you compare any passage against the original side by side. Where it gets something wrong you can correct it, and your correction is kept.
Yes. Export as EPUB, PDF or plain text. The EPUB is valid EPUB 3 with a proper navigation document, so Apple Books, Kindle and Kobo open it with working chapter navigation.
No. They stay on the device they were bought on and are spent when you use cloud translation or Explain.
Ponte runs OCR on your device when a page has no usable text layer, including pages that are images of text. That costs nothing.
Restore it for free. Translate it if you want to.
