Terms of Use
These terms cover your use of the Ponte app and the translation service behind it. Using Ponte means accepting them.
AI-assisted output. AI-assisted cleanup and translation can contain errors. Compare important passages with the preserved source. Ponte does not guarantee legal, medical, or professional accuracy.
Documents you process
You must own the document, have permission to process it, or use public-domain material.
Acceptable use
Do not process unlawful material, violate intellectual-property rights, evade DRM, or use Ponte to harm others.
Credits and purchases
Credit packs are consumable in-app purchases processed by Apple. Restore and on-device reading are free; credits pay for cloud translation and Explain (passage explanations). Credits do not expire.
Credits are tied to this device's anonymous account in version 1.0 and do not automatically transfer to a replacement device or restore through Apple ID.
Ponte shows the cost before a build starts and enforces a spend limit on the server across the whole job, so a build can cost less than the estimate but never more.
Refunds for in-app purchases are handled by Apple. Contact support@readponte.com if a charge looks wrong and we will help you work out what happened.
What Ponte does with your text
Cloud Translate sends the selected text through Ponte's Railway-hosted service to Anthropic solely to perform your request. Explain sends only the passage and context you select. Ponte does not use content for advertising, profiling, or its own model training, and does not write document content to its database or logs.
Foreground requests are processed in memory only. When you explicitly enable background translation, encrypted source text and results are stored for up to 24 hours from submission, with earlier deletion after download or cancellation.
Support
Support never requires your document. If you voluntarily share one, Ponte requires explicit consent and schedules deletion when the case closes.
Who Ponte is for
Ponte is a general-audience productivity tool and is not directed to children under 13.
Availability
Ponte is provided as-is. Cloud translation depends on third-party services and may be unavailable or degraded. On-device features continue to work without a network.
